It’s time again for my Sunday feature. Today we head to Buenos Aires, the capital and largest city of Argentina and meet up with Celeste Savoretti…
how old are you, and where did you grow up?
22 and i grew up in Rosario.
where do you live now?
Buenos Aires
how did you get started taking photos?
At the age of 14 I started some lessons, but didn’t last too much after my Leica betrayed me.
But one day (6 years later).. I remember my last day of holidays, we were in a bar by the sea, and saw this pic...

That inspired me. I bought a little digital compact camera so I could shot all the time. And that’s what I did..
After that passion and other cameras came
what is your day to day life like? work, school?
Well.. my life is changing a little bit lately. I just moved a few days ago. I used to study industrial design in Rosario, but now I’m doing some photography. During my days when I stay home, I don’t watch TV at all, always editing pics, learning video programs and watching stuff (photography most of all) on the internet. Sometimes I do sets, it’s fun but it’s very trying, so that’s not what I like best
.
Sometimes I take pics at some party.. but I’m a little shy with the people I don’t know, so I don’t like that work at all. I hope I can change that!!
I love walking, being with my friends, and also love nature.

what are your thoughts on sexuality and photography?
It’s funny because many of my pics are sensual, but I don’t like complete nudity. I like insinuating. It doesn’t mean that I won’t ever shoot full nudity, because i don’t even know what I’m going to do the next minute, haha.
As I’m a girl I like the female body as an esthetic thing, more than the masculine. I always feel more comfortable. If it’s a fetish? well…. girls are my fetish, maybe it’s weird I say this, but that’s the truth. They are funny, beautiful, and inspire me mostly. I have to thank my friends for that.. If my reality would have been other maybe today I woundn’t be shooting.
what do you try and express in your photography?
Spontaneity mostly. I love when people don’t look at me, or don’t know that I’m going to shoot, and sometimes they get surprised. Well, those are the best expressions, faces, and moments.

I like to show to the people that I know how to steal some pieces of reality and save them. Save those everyday moments. On the other hand I like beauty and like to express that, also fashion.

are your photos auto-biographical ?
That’s a wide answer, it depends on the point of view. I think that mostly there are because I’m usually shoting good moments I spend with my friends.

do you prefer analog or digital?
I like shooting more with the analog, it has more magic. I like the uncertain, the benefit of the doubt. But I won’t lie, I also love editing pics and I have a digital, so… It depends on the result I want to get, then I pick the camera.

are most of the models in your work friends?
Yes! Most of them =) As I said before, they are my biggest inspiration.
